United Nations 65th Anniversary

The Westchester Chapter of the UN Association of the USA will host a celebration of the United Nations 65th Anniversary,

"Meeting the Millennium Development Goals: Westchester's Contributions"

DATE: Sunday, October 24, 2010
TIME: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
PLACE: Communited Unitarian Church, 469 Rosedale Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605
Refreshments will be served. Open to all. Free admission.

Featuring:

Dr. Susan Stokes, Past NGO Representative, The Links, Inc.; Past Chair, Safe Motherhood. Dr. Stokes will speak on Maternal Health

Honorable Yuhanna Edwards, President, Mount Vernon City Council. Mr. Edwards will speak about Rwanda

Doris Benson, President, Bronxville rotary. Mrs. Benson will speak about Rotary International's Global Water Project.

Mrs. Michele Lee Clarke-Ceres, Governor Paterson's Honorary Chair for UN Day, is the honored guest.

Ms. Clarke-Ceres currently serves as Chief of Staff to the First Lady of New York State and Chief of Protocol to the Governor. Her governmental experience includes progressively responsible positions on the city, state and federal levels most notably the US Department of State where she held the position of Deputy Chief of Protocol at the US Mission to the United Nations. She has also worked internationally for the Government of the Principality of Andorra and the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson. She holds B.A. in English from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia, and studied at the University of Seville in Spain. Michele is fluent in Spanish, and has a working knowledge of French, Catalan and Portuguese. She is married to Rudyard Ceres, Esq. and has a lovely son named Wade.
